Call for student representatives for the Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences and the Degree Committee

The Student Union KOE is looking for student representatives for the Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences Ltd and the Degree Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences ✨

We are seeking one (1) full member for the Board of LAB and one (1) full member and one (1) deputy member for the Degree Board. Both positions require knowledge of Finnish.

The Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences (LAB-ammattikorkeakoulu Oy)

The Board of LAB holds the highest decision-making power regarding matters such as the university’s strategy, finances, organization, and rules of procedure. The Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences is responsible for ensuring that operations are carried out in accordance with applicable legal requirements, directives and regulations, as well as the education provider’s vision and mission. The Board also decides, within the limits of legislation, on student intake numbers and strategic questions related to education. The Degree Board

The task of the Degree Board of LAB University of Applied Sciences is to handle requests for rectification related to study attainments made by students who have registered as present. The board processes matters related to study attainments that have been evaluated and graded. The  Degree Board convenes as needed, meaning when a student has submitted a written rectification request addressed to the committee. The representatives will be selected by decision of the Representative Council of the Student Union KOE in its spring meeting on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The meeting will begin at 5:00 PM and will be held both on the Lappeenranta campus and online. Applicants, who submit their application by the applying period, will have the opportunity to introduce themselves during the meeting. A remote participation link will be provided for those unable to attend in person.

The positions will be confirmed by the General Meeting of LAB University of Applied Sciences Ltd. The term of office will begin after the General Meeting and will last for one (1) year.

Note: The working language for both representative positions is Finnish.
